Below are a few of the questions we’ve had related to Internet Advancement.

Q. What is required to useĀ Internet Advancement?

A. Using Internet Advancement is easy.

  1. Register your unit.
  2. Login
  3. Record the ranks, awards, merit badges, and belt loops that you want assign to the Scouts.
  4. Submit to council
  5. Print the advancement report. Sign the report and send in to the council office.
    1. This can be delivered through US Mail, EMail, or hand deliver when you come in to pickup awards.
    2. It’s helpful to include a unit order form if you need a lot of items from the Scout Shop.

Q. How do we get our roster in to Internet Advancement?

A. The roster will automatically be loaded from the Council’s records. Simply click the Load Roster button or the Upload Advancement File button. This is the first step to using IA. Simple click the Load Roster button if you want to use without an advancement file.
The advancement file is a formatted file that comes from Pack Master, Troop Master, ScoutBook or some other software. This is a more advanced feature, but we have people that can help you use this if you’d like. Contact us for more info.

Q. Can we useĀ Internet Advancement to remove incorrect entries?

A. Sorry, but no. Once submitted to the council the council staff has to remove the incorrect entry. Please contact us to correct any incorrect entries.

Q. How do I register our unit for Internet Advancement?

A. First thing is you will need your Unit ID. This is a 6 or 7 digit ID that you get from the Council. Please watch our short 2-minute video on how to register.
